A COMMUNITY-BASED FRIEND-STIVAL

HATCHFEST is a micro-festival celebrating community, creativity, and collective joy.

We have an excellent lineup of musicians, space for amateurs to showcase their talents, and plenty of ways to participate if being on stage isn’t your thing—crafts, movement, games, and surprises.

This is an experiment rooted in mutual care, curiosity, and shared imagination.

THE BASICS

HATCHFEST will take place on June 13th from 10am-10pm and June 14th from 9am-noon. Take a look at the DRAFT schedule, which is subject to change.

THE NUTHATCH is a 20-acre forest- and meadow-scape outside of White Salmon, Washington. Exact location will be provided to ticket holders; it is approximately 1.5 hours from Portland.

Because of its remote location and micro vibes, you’ll want to come prepared. Please read our FAQ below.

FAQ

This is an overnight festival—will there be on-site camping?

On-site camping at the Nuthatch property is limited to performers and volunteers. Limited camping will be available at neighboring properties (a 5-10 minute walk from the festival site on a secluded country road). If you are interested in securing a camping spot, send us an email; they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for a small fee. We encourage attendees to check out other nearby camping, HipCamp, AirBNBs, or the Society Hotel in Bingen. Plan ahead, as things start to fill up moving into the summer.

Will there be food and drinks for sale on site?

HATCHFEST is strictly BYOB (and BYOCooler). We will have potable water on-site and will provide limited non-alcoholic beverages with meals. Food must be purchased ahead of time (ideally when you purchase your festival pass, though we can take additional food orders through May 31st). There will be no on-site sale of food. You are welcome to bring your own cooler with snacks and picnic foods.

What meals can I purchase ahead of time?

You can either purchase an all-meal pass, which covers Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner, and Sunday breakfast. OR you can purchase Saturday dinner ONLY. Note that food will not be prepared in a certified gluten-free facility.

  • Saturday lunch will be catered by The Nuthatch’s team of kitchen pros (formerly of Portland’s Handsome Pizza & Seastar Bakery). It will be fully vegan (with optional dairy) and made using fresh, local produce.

  • Saturday dinner will be catered by DesiPDX, and will accommodate different dietary needs.

  • Sunday breakfast will be catered by The Nuthatch. Vegetarian and vegan options will be provided.

What can I expect besides really awesome music?

  • Nature magic: The Nuthatch includes a completely secluded meadow with Mount Hood views (weather permitting). June is often peak wildflower season. There’s a hammock forest a short hike from the main stage. There are ferns everywhere.

  • Playfulness and new friends: In addition to music, our schedule will include games, crafts, and movement workshops. This is a MICRO-festival, meaning it will be intimate and designed for building connection.

  • Port-a-potties: We’ll make sure we have enough for everyone.

Can I bring my kids? What about my dogs?

  • Kids are welcome at HATCHFEST, and kids under 10 can come for free (though meals must be purchased for them). Please let us know when purchasing your tickets if you’re bringing children. Also, please note that you are fully responsible for your kids and we will not be providing any form of childcare.

  • No, you can not bring your dogs. Sorry.

What should I bring?

  • A comfy blanket or camping chair.

  • Sun protection.

  • Sturdy shoes are recommended if you want to explore the property. No bare feet allowed.

  • Water bottle.

  • Cooler with beverages, snacks, or any additional food you might want.

That’s a lot to bring. Will I have to carry it far?

Parking is available for purchase at neighboring properties, approximately 5-10 minutes walk down a secluded country road. However, you can unload your vehicle at the bottom of the Nuthatch driveway, and we will provide several wagons and some volunteers to help transport your belongings if needed.

How much does HATCHFEST cost, and are there scholarships available?

A HATCHFEST pass is $100, and gets you access to music, games, crafts, and nature all day Saturday and Sunday morning.

Food, parking, and camping are all additional purchases. This is so that we can pay our neighbors (who are graciously offering parking and camping) and give flexibility to those who want to bring their own food.

We do not have scholarships available, but we do have volunteer positions available which will get you a discounted festival pass. You will have an opportunity to indicate your interest in volunteering through the registration link.

How do I buy tickets for Hatchfest?

  1. Click on the link below, which will take you to a registration form.

  2. When you register, you will indicate how many of each pass (festival, parking, meal passes) you want; whether you’re interested in camping on a neighboring property; and whether you would like to volunteer in exchange for a discounted pass. Camping and volunteering spots will go to whoever requests them first.

  3. Upon receipt of your form, we will follow up within a few days to confirm your registration. At that time we will let you know if we can accommodate your camping or volunteer requests, and we will send you a payment link with the total due.

  4. You will have 48 hours from the time you receive confirmation to pay for your passes. If you do not pay within the 48 hours, you may risk forfeiting your spot. Once we have your payment, you’ll be fully confirmed and ready to go!
